Never Give Up Your Guns.
EVER!
Now I don't mean that in the metaphorical, bureaucratic, "Give'em hell!" sort of way. I am saying literally DO NOT GIVE YOUR GUNS to anyone who says you MUST. History is replete with communities, cities, states, and entire countries that have implemented the NO WEAPONS laws and the same thing happens every time. First: crime rates increase, even the really violent ones. Sure, why not? The criminals know you aren't armed and they knew better than to turn in their guns, so now there job just became a whole lot easier and a hell of a lot more lucrative. The next thing that happens is worse! When governments disarm it's citizens it has but one goal. To have complete, dominant control over every single aspect of your life even if it infringes on your civil liberties and freedom as a human being. That is the entire point of disarming you. When a government tell it's citizens that they must turn in their weapons then THAT is your call to arms! I'm not going to get into the founding fathers of this country or the 2nd amendment or any document or dogma surrounding gun ownership. What I will say is this. No man will ever take from me anything I do not freely give. The problem is group identity. People have an innate desire to comingle their lives into the lives of other people. We are born into families, we make friends, we separate into groups of friends, that slows to a few lifelong friends, we join clubs, develop hobbies, we are naturally drawn to people like ourselves. We are taught dogmas, religions, laws, etiquettes, social standards, political ideology. When people say phrases like "We as a people..." they mean "people like us". And that is the problem. There is no US. A human being is real. A group of any size is still just X number of humans. It's an idea, a belief. We do this almost as a natural act when it is simply "believed" to be that way. The only group that matters is one that stands in defense of human liberty and the right to your life! Any group that does not uphold the standard of a free human being is corrupt. Religion teaches that you must provide proof that you are worthy to the very god that created you. Society dictates how you must dress, wear your hair, talk, accept new mass beliefs. Governments tell you that your are incapable of self control and must be watched over, governed, controlled, protected, even from yourselves. And the worst part is the fact that people willingly defend the groups they represent before they will defend themselves. People have forgotten how to KNOW and have substituted it with belief, just as they have forgotten that they are human, but instead consider themselves "people". A "person" is an idea. A human is a living being. And no it isn't just arguing symantics. Humans think in language, so the more corrupt the vocabulary, the more corrupt the thinking.
I have a right to my life. Period. Why? Because I exist. And it is the task of no man to infringe upon the right to MY life, regardless of the group he represents. And this is the point. Government wants to disarm you. They want you disarmed so they can violate you and leave you with limited means to defend yourself. It's like getting into a bar fight and the other guy asks you to fight with one arm. Legislation to restrict or disallow a tool of self defense should be considered a THREAT! I bet no one knew that owning a bulletproof vest is considered to be illegal for nonmilitary, police, or government officials. You do now. Sure you can buy them. It's not a law they have to worry much about because civilians aren't buying enough of them to matter. And isn't it funny that THEY are "allowed" to protect themselves? Interesting observation if you take the time to look. Currently in the state of Texas you do not need a permit; "permission!" to trade guns on the individual level. In fact Texas has two bills before the state legislature trying to grant permission to extend carry permits onto college campuses and personal workplaces. Fantastic, Texas! I hope you have the balls! And here's why. There is a city called Kennesaw, Georgia. In this city it is LAW that you MUST own a gun. Wanna guess what happened when they implemented this law? You got it! Crime has nearly vanished. Criminals by nature are lazy, uncreative people and they just skip on trying to do their work in a town full of law abiding armed citizens. Governments work with the same standard and uses patriotism(group think) to justify it. They put the government over the individual. Period! And so it goes: an armed community is safer from everyone and an unarmed community is an easy target to anyone who would like to take advantage. No, you aren't going to get a "cold dead hands" reference here. But I will say this to anyone who thinks they can infringe on the right I have to my life: I am heavily armed, professionally trained, and willed to protect to the death all which I cherish.
